Image titles now stored in the image files

It has always been possible to write titles for all your images. This information used to be stored in the Arles database. Starting from this version all title fields, Title 1, Title 2 and the Link field, will be stored in the image files itself. The main advantage is that titles will always stay with the images, even if you move the files around outside Arles, move them to another computer. It also allows other applications to use the Arles titles, as IPTC is a standard, used by Adobe Photoshop and many other applications.

The Title 1 will be stored in the IPTC Caption tag, the Title 2 in the IPTC Headline tag and the Link in the Source tag. For images and movies that do not support IPTC information the titles will still be stored in the Arles database. This change is entirely optional, as you can specify the title storage location in the to the Image Explorer Options window.

If you have stored a lot of title information in older Arles versions then you may move that data to the IPTC Caption field by using the new Data Mover feature. This is not required as Arles is backward compatible and will still read any old titles you may have set in older versions.

XHTML support

The new XHTML support can be selected in the Web Page Creator option window and allows you to create 100% valid XHTML pages
